There are multiple stressors that can affect the well-being of undergraduate students. Some common campus-centric problems are wanting to fit in, learning to manage time and keep up with their grades. Other factors include feeling homesick, financial stress and other aspects of growing into independence.
A recent article by The Room – Psy explained the importance of improving the well-being of undergraduate students, particularly first-year students. More institutions are taking the necessary measures to assist students, like emphasizing on-campus resources or counseling. However, if schools would opt for a more biophilic and innovative approach to their campus’s physical design, students would be able to reap the mental health and additional wellness benefits with ease.
