As we close in on a full year of the pandemic, we’re still looking at ways to make the most of it. Or rather, making the most of our spaces. Biophilic and green décor may be the leading trends for 2021, but they’ve also improved the wellness of many people.
In a recent article by the Globe and Mail, they noted that businesses, particularly those in the hospitality sector, are leaning into the green decor trend. Using the Westin hotel chain as an example, they explain how they’ve used “living” walls, wood, sustainable fabric and earth tones to create a calming environment for guests.
“It helps calm our mood and has a grounding effect,” architect Danny Tseng said. “There are endless ways to achieve a harmonic balance between the natural and artificial.”
