Architectural firm Studio Gang has found its first project in the state of Colorado – a 13-story mixed-use building in Civic Center Park. The development will be called Populus due to its facade’s resemblance to Colorado’s native aspen tree (populus tremuloides).
“As the signature private development on Civic Center Park, Urban Villages felt a responsibility to create a community asset that would contribute to the architectural legacy of the Mountain West and provide 24/7 activation in this underserved area,” Jon Buerge, Urban Villiages’ chief development, told Construction Specifier.
Populus will be home to a 250-key hotel, 40 micro-apartments, and features amenities such as a public rooftop bar and view deck, reservable event spaces and a lobby boasting numerous food and beverage options.
