While the Southbank by Beulah tower will be the tallest in Australia upon completion, it will also be home to the world’s tallest garden.
The two-billion-dollar development was commissioned by Melbourne real estate developer Beulah, with UNStudio and Cox Architecture collaborating on its design. The building will stand at 365 meters high and the garden will cover 5.5 kilometers. The ripple-like design of the building will allow for increased plant coverage.
“We know that the inclusion of greenery, water, light, and other natural elements within a built environment positively affects how people interact with space and how they feel in the space, both mentally and physically,” Adelene Teh, executive director of Beulah, said to Architecture and Design Australia. “By offering lush, verdant spaces, guests and residents… can enjoy an abundance of health benefits.”
