Dubbed the “Queen of Green” by Black Enterprise Magazine, Yoli Ouiya is well versed in the world of sustainability and wellness. Her lifestyle blog, Yoli’s Green Living, is a testament to that. Yet, in light of this year’s pandemic, she began gravitating back towards her first passion project: food.

Seeing the growth of food insecurity as people began being laid off or furloughed due to businesses forced to downsize or close completely, she set out to help. Thus the Food + Wellness Equity Collective was born. In an episode for the Serenbe Stories podcast, Ouiya discussed the collective and how its changing the conversation around food insecurity by addressing policy issues and giving advocates a platform to do so.
