Singapore is the prime example of a biophilic city and is continuing to grow in respect to its title. Eden, a new luxury development in the city, stands at “the forefront of design and functionality” for its balance of both contemporary and biophilic architecture.
Swire Properties, a firm renowned for its luxury real estate developments, developed the 22-story building. The design of the property itself was inspired by Singapore’s abundance of biophilic architecture.
“Eden’s main blueprint and driving force is the scientific principle that shows a strong correlation between physiological and psychological well-being for humans when nature is ubiquitous in urban living environments,” designer Thomas Heatherwick, who partnered with Swire Properties, said. “This new architectural landmark will not only become one of the landmarks of our time, its central design principles will lead to a longer and more meaningful life.”
