It’s time to face facts: nothing will ever be the same. The sooner we accept this, the sooner we can really begin to move forward. Biophilia-inspired colors and décor are the most popular trend of the new year, and honestly, what better way to help us embrace the new normal?

A recent article from Home and Décor, a design news site, highlights a trio of trends for reshaping, restructuring or revamping a space; beginning with biophilic design.

“The pandemic has simply highlighted the benefit of biophilic design, especially in Singapore’s dense and vertical urban environment,” Asih Jenie, author of the article, wrote.

Some ways to use biophilia to embrace the new normal that Jenie suggests include turning the balcony of your city apartment into a garden by adding planters and using organic materials and textures for decoration.
